Navy & Cognac

What better way to tread through New York's summer heat than with a sleek, navy lace dress & designer sandals?

Necklace: Jewelmint (referral), Dress: Forever21, Watch: Anne Klein, Shoes: Coach, Belt: H&M

Although I was unwilling to pay a shipping cost that was almost as much as my order total during Forever21.com's recent B1G1 free sale, I stumbled upon a Forever21 that had the same sale in store while shopping in Jersey. Most of the sale selection was unappealing, but I was more than happy when I walked out the doors with this navy blue, lace dress for only $16.99 and a pair of free shorts. Dividing the shorts into the cost, this dress comes out to be approximately only $10.

If you saw this dress in person, you'd understand why it was on sale next to a pile of plain, cropped t-shirts. This dress is completely unlined and see through. But with a simple, black tank dress, this problem was an easy fix. I was too overjoyed with the details of this dress to pass out on this deal merely because it was unlined. And yes this is a deal, because here is an almost identical dress for $198.

Speaking about deals, this pair of Coach, leather stilettos (similarwas another steal I recently purchased. I found this pair of cognac beauties sitting on a shelf at my local Marshalls that was marked down three times from $198 to $99 to $69 then to, the price I paid for it at, $55. The ladies in line behind me were, too, surprised at my 75% off designer find. Sometimes stores like TJ Maxx & Marshalls may look like an overwhelming pile of rags, but with a little patience, they can easily be a surprise-filled, treasure box.

Blogs & Beginnings

Blogs are a medium for inspiration. And when you're inspired, wonders are only right around the corner. I've been a long reader of blogs, and suddenly today, I'd like to begin my own. As a fashion driven, city girl with shallow pockets, I'm constantly on a quest to find fashion forward pieces to add to my wardrobe. Finding nice, trendy clothing is rather easy, but instead it's finding them as an exceptionally good deal that is the challenge. In fact, it's the best part for me because nothing can beat the feeling of saving, yet buying something you love. So with this blog, I'd like to share my fashion inspiration & deal finding experience with others like me.
